The following Amazon Policy Updates changes will come into effect on the 31st of March 2022, covering Code of Conduct, Mediation, Amazon Renewed and Lab Central.

Selling Policies and Seller Code of Conduct

Amazon are updating the Seller Code of Conduct to include language explicitly prohibiting price fixing and search rank manipulation. (NB Amazon’s Price Parity policy was withdraws several years ago in the UK and EU and in 2019 in the US).

This change is applicable to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, Amazon.es, Amazon.nl, Amazon.se, and Amazon.pl.

Mediation Policy

Amazon are specifying the fact that, in case of mediation, you have the option to designate one mediator among a list of two provided by the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR).

This change is applicable to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.it, Amazon.es, Amazon.nl, Amazon.se, and Amazon.pl. On Amazon.fr the same update is already effective as of the 15th of March 2022.

Amazon Renewed Programme Terms

Amazon are updating the Amazon Renewed Programme Terms to reflect the following:

  1. The introduction of Negative Review Rate (as a percentage of total orders) and Product Quality Return Rate (as a percentage of total orders) as primary quality performance metrics and the deprecation of Negative Review Rate (as a percentage of all reviews) and Renewed Quality Score (RQS)
  2. The introduction of mandatory minimum of one year of Auto Update support for Chrome devices
  3. The requirement for mobile devices to maintain full functionality in the country they are sold, including wall plugs, charger voltage and frequency, cellular connectivity on all bands (including 4G, LTE and 5G), and ability to set the product to the language of the country, if applicable.

This change is applicable to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, Amazon.es, Amazon.nl, and Amazon.se.

Lab Central

Also effective from the 31st of March 2022, Amazon are also introducing a new programme policy for Lab Central that is applicable to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it, and Amazon.es.

This is a voluntary service to perform compliance testing in a more convenient manner.
