Czech Post have announced a partnership with online marketplace Wish that will remove previous cross-border barriers for buyers and sellers in the Czech Republic.

In an announcement, Czech Post explained how the partnership means that Wish users in the country will not have to pay tax on their orders because Wish will handle it for them.

“After concluding an agreement with Aliexpress in 2020, another business portal with which Česká pošta will cooperate is the Wish platform. The biggest advantage for clients is that they will not have to pay tax on their ordered shipments, because Wish will handle it for them, including the relevant administration,”

“When delivered via Czech Post, customers will be sure that they will not have to pay additional value added tax or customs duties on the consignment because the consignments will be released for free circulation within the EU in advance. Nothing changes for customers when shopping, the procedure for placing orders through the Wish portal remains the same.”

This announcement is good news for buyers and sellers in the Czech Republic who would have previously found sending and receiving parcels from outside the European Union complicated. Now they will be able to further their growth on the Wish marketplace thanks to a more streamlined delivery process.

The news comes shortly after they announced a partnership with AliExpress an important step in helping to connect buyers and sellers in the Czech Republic and China.
