eBay’s mission is to be the world’s favourite destination for discovering great value and unique selection
3 eBay Shop Updates and improvements
eBay shops were once the backbone of selling on eBay – in the days of Shop Inventory Format if you drove traffic to your eBay shop it was by far the most cost effective way of selling. Shops are still valuable assets today as they bring together all of your inventory in one place and offer a raft of tools to assist you in running and marketing your business. In recent years they’ve had a facelift and now three new eBay shop updates have been released.
eBay Shop Updates
New look on edit shop
The edit shop page now provides a new, modern, and more simplified experience that will work in conjunction with more enhancements coming in the future. Learn more about editing your shop here.
Categories redesign on eBay Shops
eBay have also introduced a new Shop categories experience. The new Shop categories page helps reduce the time to create and manage your Shop categories by allowing you to view and manage all Shop categories on a single page. These categories are key to your business as they don’t have to match eBay’s own category structure. You have total flexibility on how you group your products and the category names you choose to display.
Adding categories to your eBay Shop can help buyers more easily navigate all your listings within your eBay Shop. Learn how to manage Shop categories here.
This round of eBay Shop Updates includes a significant upgrade to Shop newsletters, one of the least utilised features of eBay shops. To made it easier to communicate with buyers that subscribe to your Shop eBay have made it easy to:
- Create a newsletter to welcome subscribers or showcase new products
- Build a community of repeat customers by telling your subscribers about promotions or recently added listings
Showcasing listings in your newsletter based on rules you set is a great feature. You can sort your products by newly listed, highest-priced, lowest-priced, ending first, or even by providing a price range. Filter products by category to personalise your newsletter even further.

The categories are very interesting. I can’t remember for how many years I have had to create a category and then go to another URL to be able to move and reorder it.
It was such a faff.
