New Hermes Etsy integration coming this July

No primary category set

A new Hermes Etsy integration will offer sellers on Etsy greater choice, convenience, accuracy and cheaper prices for customer deliveries following the decision by Hermes UK to develop an API that will integrate their services with the global online marketplace.

From the end of July Etsy sellers will no longer have to enter data manually to create individual parcel labels with Hermes. With the new Hermes Etsy integration you’ll be able to download the data and upload it directly in bulk to save time and avoid issues with typing incorrect address details in error. You will also be able to automatically set their preferences for collection and tracking and even automatically add the return address.

Etsy is the latest organisation to be integrated with Hermes UK and joins Amazon, eBay and Shopify. In many ways, Etsy has traditionally been the least well of all marketplaces when it comes to integrations with third party services, whether it be carriers or software solutions. This is understandable, considering Etsy’s roots in the hand made and craft space – with many items being made to order, personalised, or one off items, it wasn’t in the past a marketplace you might associate with bulk selling with merchants having dozens of orders a day to manage. That’s fast changing however and today Etsy, one of the biggest marketplaces in the world, has accelerating sales, more categories than ever, and is a marketplace where sellers won’t just need but will demand services to manage their businesses.

If you want to use the new Hermes Etsy integrateion, we’ll post an update as soon as we hear that it’s gone live.

“There has been significant growth within the small business sector over the past few years and this has continued through the pandemic as many people looked to generate income after being furloughed or losing their jobs. We are making it easier for these small businesses to access the Hermes services whilst helping them to save time and money.”
– Claire Phelan, UK Head of E-commerce Partnerships, Hermes
