DPD announces record year of growth and 5-year strategy

DPD have revealed their record year of growth after countrywide lockdowns, self-isolation and preventative measures prompted a soar in deliveries. Alongside this news, DPD have announced out their strategy for the next 5 years.

COVID-19: an unexpected surge of volumes

The pandemic caused the consumer trends of 2024 to show up much earlier. Heightened urban logistics demand and a greater sense of environmental responsibility were just two of those trends.

With the soar experienced in urban logistics, Stuart, the technological platform for express urban delivery, made 19.7 million deliveries in France, Poland, Spain and the UK and the food and healthcare delivery categories experienced unprecedented demand.

DPDgroup’s achievements and expansion

In regards to DPDgroup’s expansion and achievements, they became the first delivery company to implement contactless delivery, deciding to keep service active within Pickup and opened more than 70 new hubs & depots to reach a total of 1,200.

High demand saw DPDgroup’s volumes grow by 24% and revenue by 23% in organic growth. Several key developments that took place during their record year of growth included a takeover of BRT (85%), Italy’s leading parcel delivery company, Geis Parcel, logistics company in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and an increase to 98% capital in Brazil’s leading parcel delivery player Jadlog.

DPDgroup’s 5-year strategy

DPDgroup has a very clear objective for 2030: to become the international reference in sustainable delivery and a leading enabler of the e-commerce acceleration by building on three pillars. In terms of revenue, DPDgroup aims to double its 2020 revenue to achieve €21 billion by 2025 through expanding their core activities, accelerating initiatives, and conquering new horizons.
