1,000 New Amazon Apprenticeships paying up to 30k this year

By Chris Dawson February 5, 2021 - 10:47 am

Having created 10,000 new permanent jobs in the UK during 2020, there are now 1,000 new Amazon apprenticeships up for grabs in 2021. Applications are starting to open so if you’re interested, jump onto the Amazon Apprenticeships website to find out what’s on offer – the positions are due to start in September.

For those who successfully win a place as on of the new Amazon apprenticeships, you can expect to be paid while you work and for around 500 it could lead to a permanent job at Amazon – another 500 will be offered internally to existing Amazon employees.

These new Amazon apprenticeships cover pretty wide range of fields that you could work in, ranging from IT, safety technician, human resources, robotics, software engineering and creative digital design.

Successful applicants can expect to be paid at least £10.80 per hour in London and £9.70 in other parts of the country. At the top of the salary levels there are degree-level apprenticeships with pay of up to to £30,000 a year in automation engineering, project management, software development and chartered management.

The new Amazon apprenticeships will also come with a benefits package, including private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, subsidised meals and an employee discount which Amazon reckon are worth over £700 a year, and on top of that they’ll also become part of the Amazon company pension plan.

“We are proud to be creating new opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds across the UK to gain skills through our apprenticeship programmes in 25 different fields, from logistics to robotics. An Amazon apprenticeship offers an exciting career path, creating opportunities within our local communities across the UK and helping our own employees retrain and gain new skills at a time when investing in people and jobs has never been more important.”
– John Boumphrey, UK country manager, Amazon

“It’s fantastic to see Amazon continuing to invest in apprentices. These apprenticeships cover a range of exciting roles from broadcast production to engineering, showcasing the huge variety of opportunities available to young people looking to build a great career. I know first-hand the life changing opportunities an apprenticeship can bring. I wish all those who apply the best of luck and thank Amazon for their ongoing commitment to building skills and talent both for today and in the future.”
– Gillian Keegan, Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills
