Amazon’s Computer science education program to be released in India

By Lauren Fruncillo January 3, 2021 - 3:30 pm

It looks like Amazon could be extending their Computer science education program to India which would give people living in the country a chance to study the subject, have greater career opportunities, and become leaders in the rapidly growing industry.

According to a job application on their site, Amazon is looking to employ people to support the launching of Amazon Future Engineer in India. Chosen candidates will dive deep into operationalizing the program to what is relevant for India and the student needs.

“Amazon Future Engineer (www.amazonfutureengineer.com) is a childhood to career program aimed at enabling underserved and under privileged communities to have access to high quality computer science education. Globally, we support young students with lessons and coding camps, high school students with full CS courses, and post-high school with scholarships and internships. We are looking for a leader to support launching and managing the Amazon Future Engineer program in India. This role is currently a contract position with a 12-month term.”

Amazon Future Engineer is part of the Amazon in the Community program, which aims to ensure more children and young adults have the resources and skills they need to build their best and brightest futures, especially those from low-income communities in the areas where Amazon has a physical presence. The program is making a global impact that hopes to inspire, educate, and enable children and young adults to try computer science. The program is already ongoing in the UK and is set to enable more children to take the steps needed to excel in the digital future.
