The Range Marketplace Launches this Autumn
The Range, a home, leisure and gardens retailer selling over 65,000 products is to open up The Range Marketplace this Autumn, to enable third party retailers to sell on their platform. With over 180 stores across the UK and Ireland and 15 million weekly customers, The Range is already a trusted UK brand and so we are expecting a great deal of interest from marketplace sellers.
By taking on partners and their products on an exclusive basis, The Range have been building a superior marketplace that promotes professionality, quality and positive customer experiences. Already, 30% of the products sold on The Range’s website this summer have been from their trusted third-party suppliers
The Range will provide support to marketplace partners from day one, enabling them to connect their products to the right customers and maximise sales. Additionally, the process itself could not be easier. The Range breaks it down into three simple steps: add your items, fulfil your orders, and get paid. Suppliers will also enjoy exclusive selling rights, so there’s no competition with other marketplace partners for the same product – in other words you’ll want to get in first to secure exclusivity for your products.
There are two ways to sell on the Range Marketplace – as a third party seller paying a commission on each sale or as a first party seller setting wholesale prices to The Range leaving them to set a retail price. Commissions for third party sellers vary from 7% (tech) to 20%, but there are no set-up or subscription fees. You’ll deliver directly to customers, manage returns, and get paid in monthly cycles.
Products can be added to The Range Marketplace via a form and image upload that’s straightforward, even for beginners. If you already use sales software or a web service that integrates with marketplace APIs, The Range will work with you to synchronise all of your details for rapid product loads.
This is a unique opportunity to sell alongside a highly recognised UK retailer so if you have products in the home, leisure and gardens sectors register your interest to sell on The Range Marketplace today.
(Editor’s Note: The Range is owned and by entrepreneur and self-made billionaire, Chris Dawson. That is a different Chris Dawson to the one writing this article)
Great competition is a good thing and eBay and amazon have near-monopolies.
However, they also work because of competition on products, if there is not competition on items then prices will remain higher, which will limit the popularity of the marketplace.
Sounds interesting however this has put me off, sounds like you don’t get paid for two months
Every successful order you fulfil has to pass an escrow period of four weeks. With the escrow period passed, it’ll be added for payment into the next upcoming monthly payment cycle.
