DPD make history with five Motor Transport Awards

By Lauren Fruncillo October 8, 2020 - 5:34 pm

DPD have become the first firm to win five Motor Transport Awards in one year, twice after picking up five awards at this year’s virtual road transport ‘Oscars’.

The awards celebrate outstanding achievement in the industry and recognize innovation, customer service, efficiency and quality. They are judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry.

This isn’t first year DPD have scooped five awards in one night, they did the same in 2015 and also became the all-time most-honoured brand in the history of the awards, with this year’s haul taking DPD’s total tally of Motor Transport Awards to 34 wins. DPD have now won 14 Motor Transport Awards in the last five years and topped the following categories at this year’s event:

  • Customer Care (for the fourth time in five years)
  • Home Delivery Operator (for the fourth time in five years)
  • Best use of Technology
  • Clean Fleet Van Operator
  • Urban Delivery Operator

“This is a fantastic result. These five awards represent everything we stand for. They epitomise our commitment to having the best technology, the best customer experience and the smartest and most sustainable operation in the industry. This is recognition for the whole team and every aspect of what they do, so I couldn’t be prouder of our people. They make all of this work in head office, the depots and hubs and out on the road, and we will celebrate these awards together.

“We never rest on our laurels, at DPD. Right now, we are focused on delivering an outstanding Peak for our customers. We have planned every last detail, as always, and we are planning for record volumes, but the operation is ready and, as these awards show, we have all the tools in place to deliver.”
– Dwain McDonald, CEO, DPD
