Yodel celebrate #EverydayHeroes outstanding customer service

By Lauren Fruncillo April 26, 2020 - 6:06 pm

Yodel have decided to celebrate their everyday heroes tomorrow in a post published today. The eagerly released post that arrives just a few days before national postal workers’ day and is dated with tomorrow’s date contains stories of how Yodel colleagues are going the extra mile.

Basildon depot
The wonderful staff at the Basildon depot donated parcels containing food & drink to Street Spirit, an organisation run by volunteers who support the homeless in Southend.

Functions office in Liverpool
Colleagues at the function office donated a generous £1500 to The Whitechapel Centre. A leading homelessness and housing charity in the Liverpool City Region.

Leamington and Sandwell depots
The staff at these locations teamed up with Salute The NHS, in delivering over 8,000 Easter Eggs and over 3,000 Hot Cross Buns, to 7 hospitals across the country, covering a total of 1,418 miles.

Norwich
Driver Robert Daynes, recently moved out of the comfort of his own home into a local hotel so he can continue delivering essential items to the homes of others whilst staying away from a vulnerable family member currently undergoing radiotherapy. On top of this, Robert has also signed up as a volunteer for the NHS, and has offered his help to an elderly customer who has recently lost her husband with her shopping.

Hatfield
Lisa Piper, Team Manager, and Diane Newton, Transport Operator, have been shopping in their own time to buy and deliver essential items for a fellow colleague, Phil Porter, who is at higher risk as he is over 70 years of age. Phil is the longest serving driver at the Hatfield depot and is currently in isolation to keep himself and others safe.

Reading depot
David Straker helped out an elderly couple whilst delivering to them and finding out they were in need of some essentials, but couldn’t leave the house. David popped to a nearby shop, and delivered back some milk and tea bags all whilst following social distancing guidelines.
