Cdiscount Marketplace Coronavirus update

By Chris Dawson March 29, 2020 - 4:14 pm

As one of the very biggest French marketplaces and retailers, Cdiscount have mobilised all their resources to keep essential products flowing for the beleaguered french population.

All Cdiscount Marketplace teams remain fully mobilised to support sellers in their online activity. All the items on the site, as well as a selection of bargains, remain available for sale and orders are all dispatched. These deliveries apply both to France and the European countries they deliver to: Belgium, Germany, Spain, Luxembourg and Italy. However, priority is given to processing orders for products that meet the immediate needs of the French (in particular food, hygiene products, IT).

For sellers using the Cdiscount Fulfilment service, it is important to note that the warehouses operate normally, in compliance with safety instructions, in order to protect employees, partners and customers. All orders in Fulfilment therefore continue to be shipped, giving priority to orders for products that meet the immediate needs of the French population. The service continues to rely on transport partners (Colissimo, Chronopost, FedEx/TNT) for contactless home delivery with lead times that may be longer depending on the context. Finally, according to warehouse supplies, deliveries continue to be received, with a potentially longer lead time for integration into stock.

Cdiscount Marketplace recently launched an external fulfilment solution that enables the service to be used for all orders, from all platforms. Sellers benefit from the storage, packaging and shipment of products at competitive rates, and the possibility to ship to 20 European countries in addition to France. Cdiscount continue to provide this service for merchants, with delivery times that may be potentially extended due to the current context.

Assistance for Cdiscount marketplace sellers

Cdiscount Marketplace sends regular communications to their community of sellers to keep them updated, via email and on their management interface. This interface also hosts a Frequently Asked Questions section, which has been enriched with articles dedicated to crisis management and related recommendations. Webinars on the subject have been set up and allow live answers to the questions raised.
Finally, ComeOnPlace, the seller support agency backed by Cdiscount Marketplace, offers a D+1 payment solution enabling vendors to benefit from a shorter payment cycle. This offer, developed in partnership with StorFund, enables them to increase their cash-flow capacity. Day-to-day business management is thus more flexible and agile.

Support for French businesses wanting to launch on Cdiscount

The Marketplace teams have mobilised to launch a system to speed up the registration of new French sellers on the platform. Merchants can open their online shop on the marketplace, quickly and with step-by-step support.

The registration procedure has been made easier and 6 months of standard subscription are offered, with no commitment and no cancellation fees. If a merchant wishes, he can also benefit from the storage of his products in Fulfilment free of charge until 31st of December. To highlight its offers on the site, a €100 credit is being offered to start learning how to use paid search services. Finally, a zero or preferential commission rate is offered according to the product categories is provided for local deliveries.
