Amazon continue 2040 climate pledge efforts
Amazon are continuing their efforts to hit their climate pledge of 80% renewable energy by 2024 and 100% renewable energy by 2030 with four new renewable energy projects in Australia, Spain, Sweden, and the US. Amazon are taking their net zero carbon by 2040 pledge very seriously.
The four new Amazon renewable energy projects will provide additional renewable capacity to the grids supplying the company’s AWS data centers, which power Amazon and millions of AWS customers globally.
Currently Amazon have 26 wind and solar renewable energy projects and deliver more than 6.2 million MWh of clean energy annually. They have also installed a number of solar rooftops on fulfillment centers and sort centers globally.
