Send your Valentine’s card postmarked Lover

Oh you old romantic, you! At least I’m guessing you are or what are you doing reading an article about a Valentine’s card postmarked lover? To cut to the chase, there’s a village on the Wiltshire – Hampshire border called Lover and if you pop down to the village you can post the card you’re about to send to your loved one (or for some people their loved ones!) and it will arrive with the Lover cachet stamp to make it that little bit more special.

Send your Valentine's card postmarked Lover from valentines post boxThe local postbox is already decked out in romantic designs, including Cupid’s bow and arrow. It will be decorated during February for lovers to visit and send post from. You’ll find it on Besomer Drove in Lover.

Royal Mail is also sponsoring the village’s annual Lover Village Valentine Post. The pop up post office (opening opening its doors from the 8th of February 2020) is a key part of the Valentine service delivered by Lover. The post office adds an extra special romantic touch to every Valentine’s card by marking cards with a stamp to show it has been sent from Lover. The Lover Village Valentine post service enables people to receive the special Lover cachet stamp on the envelope of their Valentine card before it is sent anywhere in the world.

Of course if you like the idea but don’t fancy the drive down south just to make your loved one feel special, then the Lover village website is already taking online orders. Nothing says “I love you” like a couple of clicks on an ecommerce site but you can disguise your laziness by sending a card you’ve hand written in to be forwarded on from Lover. Plus why not make multiple purchases for all your lovers at the same time?

“As loved ones prepare to show their affection for one another, Royal Mail is playing an important role, as always, in delivering cards, letters and gifts across the UK. Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to let that special person in your life know how much you love them and we are very pleased to play a part in this loving celebration.”
