Gerald Ratner to headline at Retail Without Borders Conference

By Chris Dawson January 16, 2020 - 11:57 am

Pentagon have announced that Gerald Ratner, the former Chairman and CEO of Ratners, will be delivering a keynote speech at Retail Without Borders on February 27th.

Gerald was one of the most successful retailers of the 20th century, building a jewellery empire that grew to 2,500 stores and included the H Samuel, Ernest Jones, and Watches of Switzerland chains.

He famously destroyed the company overnight, and wiped $1 Billion of value from the share price with ill judged comments about the quality of the companies products. His rise and fall is one of the fascinating stories in retail history so this is going to be a stand out session that you won’t want to miss. Gerald will be the first speaker after the introductory comments from Pentagon CEO Laurence Guy, so make sure you get there in plenty of time for the first day of the two day conference.

As well as hearing from Gerald Ratner, you’ll also get to meet, see presentations and network with a host of marketplaces from around the world. If you’re serious about expanding overseas in 2020, Retail Without Borders is an unmissable conference and one that could set you up with new marketplace partners for the year ahead.

If you’ve not yet booked your ticket for Retail Without Borders, we have a discount code for retailers which will get you a free ticket – Go to the Retail Without Borders website and when booking your ticket enter the code RWB20LG.
