Meet Sandy Scott, the new Volo Commerce CEO
Sandy Scott, the new CEO of Volo Commerce has been in the UK meeting Volo customers and preparing to rejuvenate the business. Volo Origin, the multichannel solution part of Volo, was acquired by FOG Software Group (part of Constellation Software) in September this year and the new CEO is full of energy and excited for the future.
Sandy is an interesting guy, and many years ago was part of a company who acquired the killer utility of the 1990’s – WinZip. For those that remember Windows 3.1, WinZip was the defacto freeware solution for compressing files and those that used it will remember it’s G-Clamp logo with fond memories. Sandy isn’t new to the Internet and he is most obviously excited about his new role as Volo CEO and the challenge ahead.
FOG Software Group have been acquiring different businesses for many years and sitting down with Sandy he told me that they are with Volo for the long haul – They have never yet sold a business that they’ve acquired and are firmly behind Volo and ready to revitalise its position as one of the key multichannel management solutions in the UK.
Chris Farrelly has re-joined the leadership team as CTO. Chris was the founder of Volo Commerce (back when it was known as eSellerPro) and his enthusiasm for the solution will see him provide the vision for the future of the platform as well as being the lead engineer.
Since the acquisition, Sandy has been travelling the UK meeting existing customers to discover what they love about the platform and what direction it should take in the future. There are of course any number of multichannel solutions available to choose today, but where Volo has always been strong is it’s ability to handle vast numbers of SKUs and strong capability to handle incoming and outgoing product feeds.
It’s great to see Volo repositioning itself as an alternative to the other players in the multichannel world – whilst they may not welcome the competition, the stronger all players are the more they challenge each other and continue to innovate. Each solution has it’s unique advantages and Volo has been much loved by many over the years. We’re looking forward to following the next chapter for Volo under Sandy’s leadership and their new product development strategy coming soon.

It’s a great multi channel software solution and we have noticed an improvement in both the platform and their focus on their customers needs since the FOG takeover.
The reporting suite is having a makeover and they do seem to be listening to their customers which is great. The people we deal with at Volo are knowledgeable and keen to help where they can.
