Worten opened their first store on the 12th of March 1996 in Chaves, Portugal. Since then, Worten has grown to be one of the biggest electronics retailers in Portugal with more than 180 Worten stores as well as the Worten Marketplace enabling third party merchants to sell on the platform.

In 2009, Worten expanded internationally opening nine stores in Spain. Today, the brand has around 40 Spanish stores and now they’ve also launched their marketplace in Spain. offers over 700,000 new products in over 30 categories.

Selling on Worten will bring similar challenges to selling on Amazon, not only are Worten a retailer but they also carry their own exclusive brands such as Goodis, Becken and Kunft.

Worten aim to be omnichannel allowing the customer to choose to purchase with total convenience and where they want and then receiving the product when and where it suits the consumer. Buyers can search and shop online and pick up their order at the nearest Worten store; or you can choose at the point of sale and, at home, make the purchase on Worten Portugal and now also Worten Spain.

The Worten marketplace offers a site with 4,000,000 monthly visits, more than 2 million homepage impressions and over 19 million page views per month with the highest sales volume in Portugal. Buyers will get the same shopping experience that they get directly from Worten, merchants will either deliver to the buyers home or to their local Worten store for click and collect, and buyers can contact merchants through the marketplace and expect the same support that they’re accustomed to receiving from Worten.

In Portugal, about 20% of sales are from third party marketplace sellers. In the first month of operating the Worten marketplace in Spain, sales from third party marketplace sellers have already reached 7% of total sales.
