An Amazon Arlington headquarters have now launched in Virginia with support from the state and local government ahead of schedule.

In November, Amazon announced that Arlington, Virginia would be the home of their second headquarters.

Amazon announced a step forward in HQ2 development as they leased a new space in Arlington and began hiring. The marketplace aims to create 400 new jobs this year and a total of 25,000 over the next decade. Amazon will welcome their new employees to their temporary office space on Crystal Drive in June and work toward opening their first building this autumn.

Amazon posted the first few jobs yesterday morning. Amazon are aiming to recruit diverse and customer-obsessed teams and the finance, sourcing and facilities professionals will support the development of Amazon’s new sites with the goal of building an urban campus for their employees and the local community. Amazon said that they will be posting more roles in the near future.
