Retail Without Borders 2019: What I’ll be looking forward to at RWB

This year, for the first time I’ll be attending Retail Without Borders 2019 on the 14th of March. I’m excited to attend Europe’s largest marketplace conference, where I will learn first-hand about the latest developments in the online marketplace industry, hear directly from experts about the challenges and opportunities, and catch up on networking. Here are some of the keynotes and panel talks I’m looking forward to attending.

A world of opportunity: cross border trade in a post-Brexit world

I’ll be heading down to listen to a panel hosted by Jon Snow, and two panellists including CEO of WN, Simon Batt and legal counsel of We Are Pentagon Group, Chrystalla Spir. I’m interested in hearing about the possible Brexit opportunities sellers can take advantage of to trade internationally.

How managing cross-border returns can help convert more customers

A whole keynote will be dedicated to using cross-border returns as an opportunity to attract more customers. Al Gerrie, CEO of Zig Zag Global will chair the keynote to share their tips with marketplace sellers on handling international returns in the way that boosts sales and customer loyalty.

New Marketplaces

I’m keen to find out about The Market, a new marketplace in New Zealand. It will be great to learn about the new marketplace, challenges and advantages sellers face in the country, and what type of sellers should be interested in joining the marketplace. I’m also interested in finding out more about Trade Me, auction site in New Zealand for new and used goods, with automotive, real estate and employment businesses as part of their offering. The marketplace has web businesses specialising in accommodation and online dating, which I’m keen to find out about in terms of how businesses can manage to combine different elements of products and services in an integrated way. After Trade Me keynote session, I’ll stay to find out more about La Redoute, online fashion marketplace in France. I’m keen to find out about the platform that caters mainly to women aged 25 to 45, with 90% of their customers are female.
