Yodel appoints new executive chairman in a bid to hone logistics strategy
Yodel have announced that they have appointed a new executive chairman, John Hughes in an attempt to strengthen the supplier’s logistics strategy.
The supplier’s decision to welcome Hughes as part of the team came as a result of his level of expertise in the retail and logistics sectors. He had previously held positions for more than 30 years of an advisor for company boards and was a partner at KPMG from 1999 to 2016 in which gained the last mile expertise which will come in handy on his new job.

These news comes as Yodel have recently announced a launch of their £1m semi-automated sort that is designed to ease the handling of large, out of gauge and delicate parcels. The new system, named Merlin has been installed at Yodel’s Wednesbury sort centre to take care of bulky or fragile parcels which were previously handled manually by the supplier’s staff.
