Folksy is a UK based and focussed craft and craft supplies marketplace that is getting noticed.
Folksy launches new marketplace features
The folks over at British-based crafts marketplace Folksy have been busy and several new features have launched on the site to help merchants.
Direct card payments
PayPal was already available to buyers and sellers on the site but now direct payments using cards are activated. It’s powered by Stripe and merchants can use the option in their seller dashboard immediately and start taking payments. Direct card payments via Stripe are also cheaper for merchants. The transaction fees are 1.4% + 20p for transactions on European cards and 2.9% + 20p for non-European cards. For reference, PayPal’s standard charges are 3.4% + 20p of the amount received.
New Folksy seller stats
And a new statistics page allows merchants to access and visualise data from different time periods. You can hoose between the last 24 hours (yesterday), last 7 days, last 30 days or choose custom dates. Select the time period you would like to view at the top of the page in the seller dashboard. The data will then be displayed for that period throughout the rest of the page.
There is a wealth of data available including information on page views and where browsers came from, ‘impressions’ data showing how many times your items have been seen across the marketplace, including in searches, gift guides and favourites. You can also see how many people have favourited your Folksy items or shop. There is also data on Sold items and revenue available.
As they say of the statistics functions:
Knowing where your traffic comes from (also known as ‘acquisition’ because it’s where you are acquiring your customers) is particularly useful as it enables you to track how effective your marketing is. For example, you can use these stats to see which of your social media platforms is generating the most traffic – if most of your views come from one platform, it could be worthwhile focusing your efforts on here.
Sell on Folksy
We have previously written about Folksy and specifically what it can offer marketplace merchants. If you want to know more, check out our profile.
A total waste of time site for sellers in Europe and the USA or Canada or Australia or even Ireland which is only next door.
A silly worthless site not worth even reading about anymore.
They just want to be a very small fish in an even getting smaller pond.
If your not a seller from the UK you can get lost in Folksy eyes.
The next marketplace to fall for sure.
