Shpock celebrates 50 million downloads and PayPal integration
Mobile app marketplace Shpock is celebrating 50 million downloads worldwide and a selection of other achievements at the moment including a a PayPal integration for buyers and sellers and also improved services for professional sellers in the motors category.
Shpock reports that it is also investing heavily in the UK as it continues to strengthen its British reputation and customer base. This has resulted in Shpock being well on the way to the top of mobile marketplace solutions in the UK. In 2018, Shpock is already the most downloaded marketplace app in the UK app stores, with 1.8 million downloads this year to date. One driver of this has been the focus on verticals, particularly the motors category, they say.
A huge proportion of our users are unique to our motors section, so we have worked hard creating a high class experience for car buyers and sellers alike. To improve this experience further, Shpock launched a professional seller platform, establishing itself as the largest private seller motors marketplace in the UK as well as the fastest growing in terms of new listings.

Shpock has also revealed that it will be opening a much larger UK office and employ more than 200 team members by the end of the year. A large part of this team will be based in the new London office which offers space for a team of tech monetisation architects and client sales who can put in place ad products, cross-screen partnership models, intent-based audience solutions, according to specific client needs.
You might not yet be familiar with Shpock but it’s an engaging app that is growing in popularity. In particular, it seems to us, it is enjoying cut-through in relatively densely populated, metropolitan and web/mobile savvy areas, particularly with younger populations happy and willing to trade on apps.
In particular, it is hyper-local, with a great deal of commerce seemingly happening within a few miles of where buyers and sellers live. The move towards greater professionalism, as an outlet for ecommerce merchants, is most welcome, and we look forward to more developments there as the product and team grows at Shpock.
