Louis Lindsay to climb to Everest Base Camp for FoodCycle charity

By Chris Dawson July 4, 2018 - 9:27 am

Louis Lindsay, a Data Administrator at JustEat (who were 2018 runners up and 2017 champions in the Ecommerce Cup), will be trekking up to Base Camp on Everest for the Food Cycle charity.

He first found out about Food Cycle towards the end of 2016 when it was introduced as Just Eat’s charity of 2017. The charity feeds those that don’t have much money and provides them with a nutritious meal using surplus food. Louis can’t stand waste and says that considering the amount of food that is wasted in the UK FoodCycle do an amazing job giving it to those in need!

The Just Eat backed initiative will see 14 Just Eaters trekking to Everest base camp to raise money to Support Just Eat’s charity partner, FoodCycle.

In preparation for the trek, Louis trains in the gym 6 days a week, is eating a very strict diet, and goes on one or two hikes a week (with his dog, Oscar) – Dunstable Downs is his favourite. Louis is trying to source a completely ‘vegan’ kit and trying to do as much fundraising as he can for his amazing cause.

Louis chose to take on this feat because of my love of training and the outdoors, my hatred for waste and passion for FoodCycle’s values.

If you’d like to support Louis’ fundraising efforts for Food Cycle, he has a gofundme page.
