Royal Mail Click & Drop issues resolved
At midday Tuesday, Royal Mail announced that the problems faced by users trying to use their Click & Drop services to produce labels had been solved. On Monday, many sellers were unable to print labels for the whole day, although Royal Mail say that a proportion of users managed to do so.
The issue was slow page loading times and then low processing of the postage and labels and it looks very likely that the cause was a third party partner’s software changes. An email sent to retailers who use the service mentioned that Royal Mail had been working throughout the day with Microsoft to address the issues.
“Some customers may have experienced some issues with page loading times and processing of postage and labels through Click & Drop.
Click & Drop is now operating as it should but we are continuing to monitor it closely to ensure we can solve any other issues that may occur and make any changes and improvements as quickly as possible to avoid any further disruption to our customers.
We apologise to those customers who may have been impacted by this. With the full support of our hosting partners we have been working continuously together with them to resolve these issues as quickly as possible to ensure the system is working as effectively as it should for all our customers. This has been treated with the highest priority.

Out of interest how many people experience these issues when using Click & Drop directly through the Royal Mail website and how many experience it while using 3rd party shipping or multichannel solution software? We are due to turn the Royal Mail Direct integration on within our multichannel software in the next few weeks and are now very concerned about moving away from OBA.
If the 3rd Party integration has direct integration and not an API connection to RMs Click & Drop then the outages with RM are not affecting them. Ask your solution provider whether its really is direct integration?
