Packhelp startup raises €2m to supply customised low order quantity packaging

By Chris Dawson June 7, 2018 - 11:34 am

In Tamebay’s Packaging Position Paper I wrote “A box can be so much more than just a box” and went on to say “One of the most powerful uses of packaging can be to reinforce your brand. There is a cost implication which for small quantities can be prohibitive and likewise for low cost products may not be economically viable. However, boxes, mailing sacks and bubble bags can all be customised with pre-printed branding as an additional form of advertising“.

Every product which sells online must be shipped and that involves packaging of one description or another. A purely utilitarian usage to protect and contain the item, packaging is often overlooked as it can be so much more, and retailers should consider everything from protection to branding and how to delight the customer.

Where do you get your branded packaging from and how much does it cost? A Polish startup, Packhelp is one option – based in Warsaw and operating a European platform for customised packaging, they have just raised €2m in seed financing from leading European seed funds. The company plans to strengthen its position in its key markets and to further develop their packaging design platform.

A very user friendly box editor, low minimum order size and fast, high-quality production are the reasons Packhelp cite for their growth. Packhelp can produce and ship orders for as few as 30 custom boxes with delivery in as few as 14 days.

“Our first round of financing helped us to gain significant momentum in several large European markets. Today, we are proud to serve more than 5000 customers from 29 countries and generate over 70% of our revenues outside of Poland. With this new financing, we plan to further expand our operations in our key markets and solidify our leading position in Europe. Packhelp’s mission is to enable every company – regardless of its size – to offer the best unboxing experience possible. We plan to invest heavily into our platform in order to make designing even simpler and quicker. Our customers can also expect new products and services that will push their packaging experience to the next level”
