eBay are the original consumer to consumer (C2C) selling site so it’s no surprise to see them appoint a new Director of Consumer-to-Consumer Selling in the UK. Nikin Patel takes up the position as eBay continues to make online and mobile selling quicker and simpler, with new updates to the eBay Android and IOS native apps due in the coming months. Patel will report to Paolo Levoni, eBay’s Senior Director of Operations in the UK.

While eBay has focused heavily on business to consumer sales C2C is still massively important for the marketplace – consumers who sell are more loyal customers and will purchase more frequently than those that have never made a sale before.

Nikin has been with eBay for two years and this new brief is focused on making selling even easier for UK consumers. He previously lead Pricing and Promotions at eBay during this time he developed a sharp understanding of the C2C business. A Cambridge graduate, he brings 15 years of global operational experience in digital, media and telecoms, internet and digital, most recently at Sky and Virgin Media.

“This is a hugely important role at eBay. We pretty much invented consumer-to-consumer selling at distance, online and at scale. And it’s an area we continue to invest and innovate in. With his proven track record in pricing and promotions and his personal passion for consumer selling, Nikin is now focused on helping even more Brits make room or make money by selling on eBay.”
