ASOS Marketplace launched in 2010 and since then it has become the leading online platform for independent brands and vintage boutiques selling online.
ASOS launches same day delivery in London
Fashion brand ASOS is now offering same day delivery on purchases within London. They will deliver to 122 London post codes between Sunday and Friday. You need to place your order before 10am and your goods will be delivered to your eligible address between 6 and 10 that evening. The additional fee for same day delivery will be £12.95. They say that it will be available in other locations in the coming months.
They’re calling it ASOS Instant. Net-a-porter offers a similar service in London but you have until 2pm that same day to place your online order for an evening delivery.
It’s increasingly obvious that same day delivery is highly desireable for many consumers and they’re willing to pay a premium. That said, with this system, it’s not quite the case that you could bank on it for same day wear. It wouldn’t quite let you buy a new frock in the morning and be sure it would be with you in time for dinner at 8. But the delivery price doe have the merit of being fairly reasonable. Next day postage with is free but next door evening delivery with ASOS costs £7.95.
And it is another option available to fashion shoppers with the brand that already has 9000 click and collect locations around the country, offers one hour delivery slots and free returns as standard.
Matt Rogers is the delivery solutions and returns director for ASOS and says: “ASOS has a history of innovation in our use of technology, our trend-setting fashion and in the best-in-class delivery and service propositions we offer our customers. We are excited about the introduction of ASOS Instant and will continue to explore new options that add convenience and choice for ASOS shoppers.”
