eBay UK invite only selling promo 10th and 11th May 2016
There’s another eBay UK pricing promo in the offing. It’s invite-only to private sellers that caps selling fees at £1. The email alert landed in my inbox earlier this evening.
It applies for two days, the 10th and 11th of May. According to the rubric: “Create up to 100 listing(s) on eBay.co.uk in an eligible category, starting during the promotion period, using the auction-style or fixed price format, and pay a maximum of £1 on its final value fees if the item sells. Before your 100 listings start, you need to have actively opted in to the promotion via the RSVP link shown in the marketing communication.”
Needless to say, Terms and Conditions apply.
While its a laudable effort on behalf of ebay, its simpler for those not familiar with the torture of ebay listing procedure to put thier stuff up on facebook, its free and local.
Some versions of this offer have a higher maximum fee of £3:
This other higher value promo is valid for an extra day, expiring at 23.59.59 on the 12th.
In my family we’ve got the lower value on an account which hardly ever lists anything over a fiver, and the higher value promo on an account which usually has a sales total under twenty pounds, so perhaps another example of ebay trying to increase the overall value per transaction.
Given that the month long promo is still running, with a limit of 100 listings per day, surely ebay don’t have a lack of listings, so can we read into this new one, that most of the items currently being listed are of lower value ?
