myHermes Parcelshop roll out at 450 Co-op food stores
The agreement focuses on providing added choice and convenience to online shoppers and sees Co-op become one of Hermes’ biggest business partners.
Following a successful pilot across 42 Co-op Food stores last year, Hermes and the retailer have permanently extended the service across the UK. As a result, millions of Co-op customers will be able to pick up their online purchases from leading retailers such as H&M, JD Williams and River Island as well as send returns
What’s probably of more interest, is that the myHermes services will also be available at the Co-op giving an additional 450 locations that online retailers can drop off their packages for delivery.
Hermes and Co-operative will strategically choose which outlets will offer the ParcelShop services based on a range of criteria including location, consumer demand and opening hours.
This is great, one problem,
I sent 15 parcels as a test a few months ago, all in Triangle cardboard tubes.
TWO of them had tracking information “Delivered – package posted in letterbox”
But the triangle boxes do not fit through a letter box impossible, its a joke!
Customers was not happy etc and nobody has any idea where the parcels went!
My hermes need to concentrate on getting parcels to the final destination and improving trust with sellers to use the service. People would move from royal mail in there thousands!
Ebay recently need full tracking and royal mail are so expensive.

One single problem is the final drivers lie about actually delivering the parcel!
Same’s happened to me. My local Hermes driver is brilliant, delivers and collects with full due care. However I sent something to Kent recently – a small parcel size containing a Raspberry Pi computer board kit – and the buyer found it stuck behind a bush round the side of his house while the message said they’d left it with a neighbour. As it happened the neighbour was a mate and when I spoke to the buyer he was a dead straight business sort who would have no reason to lie. His feedback was “Great seller shame about the courier who was c**p, not seller’s fault thouogh”.
Hermes were informed heard nothing. Wake up Hermes, it is a big issue we cannot afford to lose our reputations which are hard to earn and can be lost in a second.
