PayPal Commerce Buy Button for web, mobile, social and email

By Chris Dawson February 23, 2016 - 10:44 am

PayPal-CommercePayPal have announced PayPal Commerce, a project jointly developed with Braintree, which is still in beta but allows merchants to put a “Buy Button” almost anywhere.

Whether it be social media, email, blogs, mobile apps or even embedded in adverts, if a consumer can simply click a buy button then there’s a much higher probability that they’ll make a purchase then if you have to direct them to a website and shopping cart.

The premise is that consumers are discovering and talking about products just about everywhere on the web except on your website. Marketeers have spent the last decade doing their utmost to drive traffic to websites but that in itself is counter-intuitive when you think about it. For instance if you send out email marketing, do you really need or want for the recipient to have to click to your website just so that they can click again to buy. Doesn’t it make a lot more sense for the call to action buy button to be embedded in the email?

If you’re interested in being one of the first to use PayPal Commerce, drop them your details on the PayPal Commerce website.
