Barclays to accept Apple Pay by April

It seems like Barclays will soon be offering Apple Pay to users before May, according to reports.

The Barclays promise was to accept the contactless system early in 2016 and there’s no clear reason as to why they have been been dragging their heels despite customer annoyance.

Barclays CEO Ashok Vaswani says that they will accept Apple Pay “within the next 60 to 75 days.”

Apple Pay is already widely accepted by UK banks and businesses and is proving popular with consumers. Since launching in July 2015, 15 banks and credit card firms have integrated Apple Pay and Barclays has been the one notable name missing from the list.

Let’s see if they meet their deadline.
