PayPal Here Card Reader Offer hmIf you’re interested in getting your hands on the latest PayPal Here card reader, there’s a special offer on until the 31st October for £59.95 (normal price £79.95).

The new version not only supports Chip & Pin but also contactless “Tap and Go” payments, so for low value sales it’s even faster for your customers to pay you on the go.

As well as supporting contactless payments from Visa, Maestro and MasterCard debit / credit cards, you can also tempt your customers to use Apple Pay if they’re hip enough to have the latest iPhone technology. In fact the new PayPal Here card reader could accept virtually any new contactless payment service as they become available so doubtless Samsung Pay will also be compatible as soon as it’s available in the UK.

Once you’ve got your PayPal Here card reader, all you need do is to download the PayPal Here mobile app free from iTunes or Google Play and following simple, on-screen instructions to link the new card reader wirelessly to your smartphone or tablet.

The mobile card reader app can process card not present payments over the phone but the fees are higher due to increased payment risk.

Why don’t they make a version that can connect to a PC using a USB cable?

Would be a good solution for small businesses.

    >can these process card not present?

There is a fee listed for manual entry (3.4% + 20p, same as swipe and sign) so it may be possible.
