Brightpearl announces collaboration with Alibaba

Brightpearl has signed a collaboration agreement with Alibaba offering its clients access to products listed on one of the world’s largest online B2B marketplaces.

“Source from” is the first result of this collaboration, an app which allows a merchant to source products on, from within the Brightpearl platform. Merchants also have the ability to create products directly in Brightpearl from listings – the new app is available exclusively on the Brightpearl App Store.

Key Features

  • Brightpearl merchants will be able source products directly from and then filter search results by price range and minimum order quantity.
  • Brightpearl merchants will have access to all pertinent information (e.g. product details; supplier information; packaging and shipping information), and be able to directly access the listing on Wholesale via Brightpearl to negotiate and purchase from the supplier.
  • Once a purchase has been made, the product name, supplier details and a link to the product page will be automatically recorded within Brightpearl.

Scott Hill, Product Manager at Brightpearl, says “Watch this space – merchants will enjoy more functionality as we’ll be unveiling additional functionality throughout the summer”.

This does look like a great time saver for Brightpearl merchants sourcing from Alibaba, once you find the products you want to purchase they can be created in Brightpearl for you and of course payments are protected –’s Secure Payment service only releases payments to the supplier once the merchant confirms delivery.
