Xsellco launch free Amazon repricer
Last week at Internet Retailing Expo I was able to catch up with the guys from XSellco. At the expo, they ran me through their new offering: a free Amazon repricer.
As I noted earlier in the year, marketplace repricing tools are big news and there are numerous offerings out there. But as far as I know, only this repricer is free.
Repricers offer you the chance to set rules regarding the pricing of your product. The repricer then examines the market and will adjust the price of your goods to ensure they stay competitive. Done manually, this is a very time consuming business and automation is vital.
The tool is dead easy to use and you have to approve the changes so there is no need to worry about a rogue bulk operation putting all your lines in the bargain basement.
Two things strike me. It’s the perfect gateway tool if you’re considering a repricer but haven’t yet got around to it. Secondly, it’s an opportunity for sceptics to experiment and see if they could make use of such a tool.
In either case, I think it’s well worth taking a few off your lines and having a go to see if it makes a difference. Find out more here.
Well we had a look and it is simply a cut down version of their paid for product offer but without fast updates, net margin management and competition rules (i.e. probably most of the things you need to actually price properly).
Frankly they would do better to offer a 2-month free trial of the real product to see if their net margin approach really makes a difference.
In our view both AppEagle & ChannelMAX are very hard to beat as general repricers but for different reasons (there are specialist repricers for some categories of product as well of course).
We will be offering a standalone paid repricer, which will have a free trial period that will offer faster updates, net margin management and competition rules.
We have had a good uptake of the free repricer. Many people have no experience of automated repricers, so we feel the free repricer we launched is a useful tool for these people who want to test the water with automated repricing.
