As we all know, eBay has been talking the talk for some time about the importance of international trade and the possible growth opportunities it might offer your business.

So it’s good to be able to report some specific measures and investment that they are making some efforts to walk the walk, and not just talk the talk. And for those of you who are interested in the facilitation of cross border trade (CBT), will find this comprehensive article in techcrunch of interest.

One of the great barriers to CBT is language. And on one level translating eBay items and sites across languages is simple. It’s just translation right? But start considering the various other difficulties of wildly difficult languages sometimes in different alphabets. And getting that done by computers. Well, it’s a mammouth task. eBay has some ideas.

Well worth a read.
