National Business Planning Week is coming (10th – 16th Feb)

National Business Planning Week will be happening for the 2nd time in 2014 from 10th to the 16th of February.

The aim is to encourage UK owner managed businesses to plan for the year ahead and also begin developing their plan in advance of the online event and campaign in the week itself.

Organised by YBM HQ and BIS’s Business Is GREAT Britain, the event exists to encourage business owners to assess their existing business (or start-up) in a professional manner and then identify how to be more competitive, profitable and develop a strategy for growth.

How you approach the issue of business planning will be determined by what you’re doing and what you need. A scribble on the back of an envelope can be just as effective as a massive great plan, if it works for you. And that’s rather the point. You need to make a choice about what is going to work for you.

But every business needs to take the time, every now and again, to take stock and reflect on where their business is going and this week seems as good an opportunity as any to take a step back.
