Andy Geldman’s Ultimate Guide to Marketplace Repricing

By Dan Wilson January 30, 2014 - 3:49 pm

I can see that repricing is going to be one of the really big ecommerce themes here in the UK for 2014. We’ve had lots of people asking about it here on Tamebay and for the first time we have repricers in the Tamebay guide.

So what’s it all about? You can do no better than check Andy Geldman’s Marketplace Repricing: The Ultimate Guide on WebRetailer.

But for a pithy description I poached this from Andy’s article by way of explanation: “In essence, marketplace repricing is simply a seller making changes to the price of products they offer on platforms like Amazon and eBay. They might do that for any reason, but typically it’s in response to competition.

On marketplaces, different sellers’ offers are shown side-by-side so buyers can compare prices very easily, and uncompetitive prices disappear into the background noise. To be successful, sellers need to find a way to rise above the crowd.”
