French retailer La Redoute looks stateside for growth with ChannelAdvisor

Multi-channel ecommerce enabler ChannelAdvisor has announced that it will be helping French fashion and homewares retailer La Redoute expand into the US. Currently, the company has no market presence in the world’s biggest online market.

Using ChannelAdvisor’s Marketplaces solution, France’s leading online channel for fashion and home products can now sell its products into the US through Amazon and eBay, without the need for an existing presence or sales infrastructure in the market. La Redoute is able to fulfil sales from France while benefitting from the exposure into the U.S. market.

According to statistics from eMarketer, e-commerce sales in North America grew 13.9 per cent to a world-leading $364 billion in 2012, a figure expected to rise a further 12.2% to $409 billion this year. Recent research by ChannelAdvisor, conducted at Catalyst Europe 2013, found that 21% of European retailers expect to expand into North America in the next two years.
