PayPal CheckIn BerlinPayPal have announced a trial for PayPal Check In in Berlin Germany. Customers can now check in to various eateries on their smart phone and simply pay with their profile picture.

We’ve already seen and tested PayPal Check In in the UK and both Dan and I love it. It will be interesting to hear how the Germans take to cashless payments so if you’re in Berlin and spot a PayPal Check In location let us know if you see anyone paying with their mobile.

It works exactly the same as in the UK, you find retailers offering payment with PayPal Check In on your smart phone and sign into the location. Then when you’ve made your selections and are ready to pay you simply say you’d like to pay with PayPal. The retailer locates your profile picture on their till system and charge your PayPal account and you’re ready to go.

The first locations you can use PayPal Check In in Berlin are Du Bonheur, hosskost Berlin, MAKI, Mogg & Melzer, momos, Noodeli, ocelot, Schoenschmecker Deli, The Barn and The Barn Roastery.
