Fast ‘n Free shipping now live on eBay UK
Fast ‘n Free is now live on eBay UK, if you see a qualifying listing then you’ll see the new logo both in some search results and on the view item page.
One surprise is where the logo isn’t showing though, you’ll see it in search results if you’re viewing them in list view, but currently there’s no sign of it if you’re in gallery view. That’s probably simply because there’s not room for it, so it may have more effects in categories traditionally browsed in list view than categories such as Clothing where defaults are Gallery View. Of course in both search views if you click through to the product the logo shows on the listing.
What to monitor re Fast ‘n Free
One thing that’s not been mentioned yet is will eBay promote Fast ‘n Free qualifying listings to buyers, especially in the run up to Christmas. Whilst we’ve absolutely no information on this, at Tamebay we’re betting that the answer will be yes. eBay have a habit of promoting listings which they think best meet buyer’s requirements. In the past eBay have promoted items with free shipping, items from Top Rated Sellers and Items that are new with fixed prices, why wouldn’t they promote items which are Fast ‘n Free shipping?
Keep an eye out for two things, one invisible and one highly visible. Monitor your competitors listings and take note if they start to rise in search results and they’re offering Fast ‘n Free while you don’t. Depending how search results change will soon tell you if Fast ‘n Free is something you want to qualify for or if you can stay competitive with slower shipping or charged for shipping.
The visible indicator will of course be on site messaging by eBay directing buyers to listings that offer Fast ‘n Free, if you see this you definitely want to at least consider adjusting your listings to take advantage.
Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.
It says on eBay “The eBay Fast ‘N Free logo will be displayed when the listing offers free shipping and there is a high probability that the item will be delivered within 4 business days or less.”
Had a look at one of items after reading this, it has same day dispatch and 1st Class postage so I ticked the Fast n’ Free box and it said it didn’t qualify?
I would have thought there is high probability of same day dispatch with 1st class arriving within 4 business days.
I wonder if this is just a test across a small number of categories as I can’t seem to replicate it?
So there is “FREE FAST” and “FREE VERY FAST” postage ??
(Look carefully at the Sample listings)
And the difference is ??
“I bought your item on ebay but you only sent it by FREE FAST UK Postage and I paid for FREE VERY FAST UK Postage” Duhhhh….
Since turning this feature on it’s been nothing but hassle.
Royal Mail miss the date’s eBay suggest and all you get is people moaning. Fast and Free can do one.
How do you turn the feature on? I contacted seller support as I can’t see any listings that are fast and free and they told me that it hadn’t started on eBay UK yet?
You don’t turn it on, you just make sure your listings qualify as per http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/fast-n-free.html#how
Definitely live in the UK. Here’s a listing it’s displayed on
Thanks for that. I have just tried that listing on 5 of our work computers and only 1 of them displayed the fast and free logo using Chrome.
I have now managed to see the logo on this listing using both IE and Firefox.
I thought it was strange, as all of our listings have fulfilled the criteria for at least a year.
Thankfully, all of our listings are showing the logo when viewing them in Firefox
