By Chris Dawson March 12, 2012 - 6:34 am

eBay have announced listing quantity restrictions for the new iPad from Apple both prior to the launch date of 16th March and for post launch sales.

New Apple iPad Presales

  • Apple authorised resellers will be allowed to list up to 50 items per week
  • eBay Top-rated sellers will be allowed to list up to 4 items per week
  • All sellers meeting minimum performance standards will be allowed to list 1 item per week
  • All sellers are required to have a dispatch time no greater than 5 days from the launch date of 16 March
  • All sellers must upload tracking information upon dispatch

New Apple iPad Post-Launch sales

  • Apple authorised resellers will be allowed to list an unlimited number of items per week
  • eBay Top-rated sellers will be allowed to list up to 8 items per week
  • Sellers with a history of selling in the Computers & Networking category will be allowed to list up to 8 items per week
  • All sellers meeting minimum performance standards will be allowed to list 4 items per week
  • All sellers are required to have a dispatch time no greater than 5 days
  • All sellers must upload tracking information upon dispatch

You can read the on eBay.

Realistically it’s unlikely there’ll be any discounts on the new iPad any time soon. The real question is will there be a shortage of the new iPad and if so will buyers be willing to pay a premium to get the latest model?
