TameBay eBay Tools and Services Guide 2011

Today we have published our first book, the TameBay eBay Tools and Services Guide 2011.

Over the years both Sue and I have used numerous tools to simplify the running our our eBay businesses to save time, money and simply to make eBay’s processes manageable. We’ve also spoken to hundreds of friends and colleagues and collected together every current eBay tool in one volume.

It’s always been a source of frustration that some of the best tools aren’t publicised well enough. I still remember when long time TameBay reader Northumbrian suggested we take a look at Packing Partner and since then I’ve used the tool daily to produce my ecommerce invoices.

Now we’ve collected every eBay tool and service we know together in one guide along with over 35 product reviews. Many of the tools in this guide are little known apps which can make a huge contribution to the way you run your eBay business. Others are better known, but you may not have had time to fully investigate the products and services they offer. Whether it is a utility to make printing your labels and invoices automatic, or a fully fledged multi-channel ecommerce management platform you’ll find what you’re looking for in the guide.

We’d like to thank all of the companies who have supported us in creating this guide, the many people who support us with content for the site, Dan Wilson for the original suggestion that we should launch TameBay and most importantly of all, you and all our many other thousands of readers who visit TameBay, comment on TameBay and who have made the site what it is today.

    As an eBay consultant and Trading Assistant, this is a wonderful tool. Well done, I just wish it had been around when I first started out on eBay.

    Chris/Sue was going to buy the book but 22+ days shipping from the US? any plans to make it available in the UK?

      We’ll get a bulk lot shipped into the UK but it’ll take a few weeks. Cheaper than shipping one by one though 🙂

    I have had a look at goofbay which looks interesting. I have run the seller history bit and the totals look wrong. I have run it on my own id and the sales are about half. Has anyone else run it?

    Great job guys – thanks! We swear by Packing Partner too, but all these eBay updates seem to have caused it to stop working in one of our busiest weekends of the year, and no support available. Anyone else having problems?

      Thanks for the reply. Yes, we did it when the update came out (we just use the label edition), and again this morning when it didn’t work. We get a message saying the records cannot be collected although it appears to go through the collection process normally. If we click continue the records are there (thankfully we can print our labels) but there are no sales record numbers in the packing list, multiple sales from the same buyer are missing and each order has 0 x picture inserted in each sale as a purchase before the items actually purchased. Have a feeling it’s going to be a long weekend…

      UPDATE: Just had an email from Andrew at packing partner confirming that eBay made changes to the site this morning and that he has now fixed the error and the update is available on the Aimco website. They may be a small company, but you certainly can’t fault their service. I doubt that some of the larger companies are as conscientious, but hopefully it won’t affect too many people come Tuesday morning. It astounds me that eBay would even contemplate doing an upgrade on a bank holiday weekend, but they seem intent on making life as difficult as possible for us sellers at the moment 🙁

      Would be helpful if he emailed all customers re issue and fix, saves a lot of hassle on Monday morning

    we really did like packing partner
    though when things went mams up due ebay changes a while ago we made sure we had other options,
    it not good business to rely on small one or 2 man support third party software
