The future of Ink

By Sue May 29, 2010 - 5:01 pm

And continuing my series of posts nicking eBay Ink’s videos… here we have Melinda Jackson of RRBradio talking to Richard Brewer Hay about the future of eBay’s corporate blog.

I’ve lost count of the number of posts I’ve started and never finished that all basically say “RBH is wasting his time, eBay will never let him write the sort of blog he wants to write”. I never thought it’d get to two years old — I’ve seen eBay start and abandon enough blogs, and thought this would be another of the same. Richard has to be admired for his tenancity and his constant good humour in the face of grumpy criticism from people like me.

I was present @ what I believe was RBH’s first remote assignment at ECMTA New Orleans a couple years ago. I think he has done a swell job and is really invested at doing the job well.

Neil, I agree – and I think that perhaps, slowly, he is changing the culture too. I see a little more take up of Twitter by various eBay departments all the time. They’re so used to being close-mouthed, but it’s people like Richard (and a couple of the guys at eBay Motors) who are really changing that, and for the better IMO too.
