The new hand-wired Vox AC15H1TV amplifier is on a ten day auction through eBay for Charity, with all proceeds to go to No More Landmines.

If you play in a band this, described as “a glorious chunk of rock history”, is the most unique amp you’re ever likely to own.

Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Mark Richardson (Feeder, Skunk Anansi) & Steve White (Paul Weller, The Style Council) all signed the drum, with the proceeds of the auction going to the YMCA Guildford.

The drum is brand new, but with these signatures will anyone want to play it? Bidding starts at £400 with the auction running until 8am on the 1st June.

Other highlights include behind the scenes tours of the Tower of London and Durham Cathedral, driving a tank, taking tea in Agatha Christie’s house, a tour inside the stones at Stonehenge and attending Vivienne Westwood’s launch party. Personally I rather fancy the tour of Hampton Court Palace’s gardens in the company of their head gardener; maybe he could give me some advice on keeping rabbits off my lettuces.

Lilytigerlily later gave away her identity on the listing for a copy of Bob Geldof’s autobiography, Is That It?, bought, she said, “while I was researching my book Just a Man on my brother Michael Hutchence”. The book sold for 99c.

Last year, Hutchence’s brother Rhett defended his sale of items including a personal fax from Michael to Kylie Minogue, saying that he was trying to raise money to move to the Netherlands to be with his girlfriend.

If you’d rather support the charity through buying something more unusual you can buy “Pinktastic Celebrity Art” on eBay, where celebrities have created personal objets d’art to bid on.

Up for sale at the moment is Noddy Holders Blu-Tack Pink art billed as “the only guitar he couldn’t play”. Other auctions include items created by the stars of the Coronation Street and Emmerdale soaps.

But the local priest said he knew nothing about the sale ; “I see it as a bad April Fool’s joke,” he told reporters.

The cornflake was sold by two sisters from Virginia. It had been listed once before but the auction was cancelled as it violated eBay’s food policies. This time, they sold a coupon which the lucky winner will be able to redeem for the actual cornflake.

Naturally the cornflake has caused a flurry of copy-cat listings, including a cornflake shaped like Ohio and a cornflake shaped like both Illinois and Ben Franklin.

A Trowbridge man is to sell his Dr Who collection on eBay, calling it the “greatest lie that Satan ever told”, reports the Wiltshire Times. The 47 year old has been building and collecting Dr Who memorabilia since he was young; he currently has a full-size TARDIS, two Cybermen, a Dalek and a model of K9. He told reporters that during a period of mental illness and alcoholism, “the Dr Who obsession was the only thing that kept me going”.

But having found religion, he is putting the collection up for sale in local trade papers and on eBay. He said, “God delivered me from the evil that is Dr Who, materialism and alcoholism.”

It’s currently not clear whether Mr White will be keeping the profits from the sale, or donating them to a worthy cause.

All the auctions are to raise money for the Global Angels charity, founded by their mother, Molly Bedingfield.

The auction is in aid of the Alzheimer’s Research Trust. Pterry was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s last year, and has recently announced that he has donated £500,000 towards Alzheimer’s research. Fans have started a ‘Match It for Pratchett’ campaign, to encourage 500,000 readers to donate £1 each to match Pterry’s donation.

This is a cause very close to my family’s heart, so I hope no one minds me pimping it here.
