Having missed out on a rainy bank holiday weekend eBay have now obliged with the free listing day we were expecting. This weekend for the 12th and 13th May you can list auction style listings on eBay from a private account with free insertion fees.

The start price needs to be £1 or more to qualify for free insertion fees (you already get free insertion fees for auctions with lower start prices as a private seller). All the normal terms apply – private sellers only, no professional listing tools – you can only use the Sell Your Item form, Quick Sell form or mobile apps to list.

There’s another weeks free auction listings for eBay.com sellers with an eBay shop, and the maximum number of free listings is once again 50,000. The promotion applies to all durations apart from 1 day listings.

Unlike the UK, for the eBay.com promotions you can use listing tools, but unless you’ve a huge inventory 50,000 listings is a lot. Don’t forget there’s a duplicate listings policy so you can’t simply list the same items multiple times.

The promotion runs from today, the 7th May and ends on Sunday the 13th May. Full details of the promotion with what’s included and what’s excluded is on the free listing promotion page on eBay.

It’s miserable weather. It’s a bank holiday weekend. There are going to be loads of people on a three day weekend with nothing to do. So where’s our free listing weekend?

eBay have been holding listing promotions in the UK roughly once every two weeks for most of this year, but now with a bank holiday and plenty of time to list there’s nothing. You can pretty much guarantee that whenever we have a bank holiday the weather in Britain will be miserable, and with April having been the wettest on record for 100 years you can bet that the sun won’t perk up over the next few days and give us some blazing sunshine.

Come on eBay, times are tough, give us a listing promotion when you know we’ll be sat at home with nothing better to do!

This time sellers can list up to 100 auction style listings with a start price of £1 or more with free insertion fees.

eBay also added on an image to the email notification promoting “Mobile listings in 60 seconds“. If you’re clearing out your old DVDs or CDs then this is definitely the way to go – simply scan the barcode and the listing is pretty much created for you and all you need to do is a brief description and choose the start price and duration. If you’ve not tried listing with the mobile app why not give it a try on your private eBay ID this weekend?

Great news for all sellers on eBay.com. For the next three days (26th – 28th April) you can list up to 5,000 fixed price listings for free! This includes both sellers with an eBay store and non-store subscribers. Seemingly this is a pretty generous promotion as a fixed price listing can be both multiple quantities and multiple variations so you can list an almost infinite amount of product, you just have to fit it within the constraints of 5,000 parent listings.

Of course the downside of this promotion is that you probably already have all of your items listed on eBay. The people this will benefit the most is those who have additional inventory either on their own website or in retail outlets which they can easily port onto eBay.

Bear in mind that all normal selling restrictions still apply including the duplicate listing policy so make sure your listings don’t fall foul of eBay’s rules. You’ll also have to meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards to be eligible. Full details are on the free listing promotion page on eBay

Same rules, same conditions, no PowerSellers, no Business Sellers, No professional listing tools, Sell Your Item form or mobile apps only for listing and a start price of £1 or higher. As usual you need to have met eBay’s minimum selling standards but other than that if you have a bet and lose on the Grand National tomorrow then get your money back by clearing out your unwanted items on eBay.

There’s free listing for the whole of the Easter break for private sellers on eBay UK. From the 6th to the 9th of April you can list up to 100 auctions with a start price of £1.00 or more for free on the UK site.

There are the normal restrictions, it doesn’t apply to business sellers, you can’t use any listing tools bar the sell your item form or mobile apps and your account needs to meet eBay’s minimum seller standards. Items listed with start prices of 99p or less will count towards the free 100 listings you already get each month as a private seller.

All the weather forecasts predict dire weather for Easter, either you’ll be snowed in or it’ll be raining so you might as well rattle around the house and list all those unwanted and unloved Christmas presents you’ve never used or touched over the last three months.

There’s another 100 free listings this weekend which the information email proudly announced as “Open to all users registered on eBay.co.uk (except business sellers and below standard sellers)“. That means it’s once again for private sellers only to you and me!

For the 17th and 18th March private sellers can list up to 100 items with a start price of £1.00 or more with free insertion fees. There are the normal conditions – no professional listing tools and a few excluded categories but other that that fill your boots and clear out your house.

I do wonder when eBay will make all auctions free for private sellers, they’re running so many promotions that the time has to come when auction insertion fees are simply waived permanently. I also wonder how many business sellers are simply using their private accounts to list whenever there’s a promotion for private sellers?

Full details of the free listing promotion are available on eBay so check the minutia before you list.
