70% of UK now within 5 miles of InPost locker
InPost have opened their 1000th locker location making them, they claim, by far the largest automated click and collect locker network in the UK. They plan to double the number of locker locations 2000 in 2015.
At the same time they’ve announced that Jonathan Smith (former Yodel CEO) has become Chairman to help drive InPost’s ambitious expansion plans.
Click and collect services are becoming increasingly popular with 35% of online shoppers already using them, a figure set to increase to 76% by 2017.
However we know all Tamebay readers aren’t convinced of the benefits of Click and Collect, and according to Barclays you may be right to doubt, almost a quarter of consumers still deem Click and Collect as inconvenient as they require collection during store opening hours. That’s where InPost lockers come in, because they’re situated with 24/7 access you really can Click and then Collect your parcel at a time that suits you.
The latest expansion to the InPost network means that almost three-quarters of UK postcodes are now within five miles of an automated locker, that will grow as the expand in 2015. Five miles might sound like quite a trek to collect a parcel, but the lockers have been positioned so that you’re likely to be passing by one during your normal daily routine. Whether it be a grocery trip to Morrisons supermarkets, a fill up at a petrol station, train stations and Transport for London sites or outside other major retailers, the aim is to make collecting your parcel quick, easy and convenient.
Whilst you’re probably far too busy to look at integrating a new delivery solution in the run up to Christmas, 2015 will definitely be the year in which you want to explore solutions such as InPost with a view to offering flexible delivery and returns options to your website customer in the future.
