Skrill revenues up 29%
Payment service Skrill, formerly known as Moneybookers, has posted strong results for the first two quarters of 2012.
Revenues are up 29.1% on the same period last year. Skrill also reports that it has over 30 million users globally and 135,000 merchants offer the service. Geographical expansion has also helped fuel growth, with gaming in the USA being a key new market.
The CEO of Skrill Siegfried Heimgaertner said “These figures illustrate how basing our approach on security and simplicity on a global scale, combined with continued product innovation, is accelerating our mission to become the first choice for online payments.”
“Moving forward, we will continue to invest in new technology, capitalising on the growing importance of the mobile payment market, which can already be seen with Skrill 1-Tap, offering consumers instant payments with just one tap across all devices. We have also recently made some strategic acquisitions to expand our product offering. These acquisitions, along with developing our partnerships within the payment sector, will help to ensure that Skrill continues to go from strength to strength.”
