Fast ‘n Free shipping now live on eBay UK

Fast ‘n Free is now live on eBay UK, if you see a qualifying listing then you’ll see the new logo both in some search results and on the view item page.

One surprise is where the logo isn’t showing though, you’ll see it in search results if you’re viewing them in list view, but currently there’s no sign of it if you’re in gallery view. That’s probably simply because there’s not room for it, so it may have more effects in categories traditionally browsed in list view than categories such as Clothing where defaults are Gallery View. Of course in both search views if you click through to the product the logo shows on the listing.

What to monitor re Fast ‘n Free

One thing that’s not been mentioned yet is will eBay promote Fast ‘n Free qualifying listings to buyers, especially in the run up to Christmas. Whilst we’ve absolutely no information on this, at Tamebay we’re betting that the answer will be yes. eBay have a habit of promoting listings which they think best meet buyer’s requirements. In the past eBay have promoted items with free shipping, items from Top Rated Sellers and Items that are new with fixed prices, why wouldn’t they promote items which are Fast ‘n Free shipping?

Keep an eye out for two things, one invisible and one highly visible. Monitor your competitors listings and take note if they start to rise in search results and they’re offering Fast ‘n Free while you don’t. Depending how search results change will soon tell you if Fast ‘n Free is something you want to qualify for or if you can stay competitive with slower shipping or charged for shipping.

The visible indicator will of course be on site messaging by eBay directing buyers to listings that offer Fast ‘n Free, if you see this you definitely want to at least consider adjusting your listings to take advantage.
