Parcelforce: Your parcel is “under the foot matt”
Just for a giggle. My friend Lian came home on Monday to find a note from Parcelforce. As she said on Facebook, when confronted with a levitating door mat: “Yeah, thanks ParcelForce for informing me of your cunning ‘hiding’ of our parcel – it could have taken me years to deduce that on my own.
*wipes feet on 6 inch high mat*”

The one that always amuses me is the message “We have left your parcel in the Dustbin” and of course its dustbin day and the binmen have been and the bin is now empty.
Over the years I have heard this happening several times. Years ago I used to deliver Phone Books and every year there were complaints from people that they had not had their new phone book and it was put down to having been put in or by the dustbin(not from my customers I hasten to add).
But again sometimes it is very difficult to find somewhere to leave something. I can remember on several occassions standing in front of a house wondering where to put the phone book. The rules were(in my day-they don’t seem to care these days) It must not be visable from the Road and it must be safe.
Off course I could come back but there were often dozens every day and the pay was only pennies per phonebook. So it just was not economically viable.
When you get home tonight just think where to put a parcel if you were trying to deliver to your home. Then you should be able to see the problemm. We do not all have porches or outhouses. Indeed we often do not have back gardens or friendly neighbours(whatever the Post Office thinks). And if we are at work the chances many of our neighbours are too.

I had items left under my doormat one time.
I live in a tenement, and the residents of three other flats would have to walk past my front door (probably over the doormat) to get to their flat.
I was not left a handy card to tell me where they had left the items.

Another time items were left stuck on top of my door, took me a few days to notice them.

Judging by some of the messages i get on ebay, leaving a note saying its under the door mat is wiser than not leaving it.
