Cascade Multichannel Management & Support
With the news that eBay UK’s first seller to achieve 1 million feedback now uses Cascade from Giant Systems we had to take a look at what the solution has to offer.
The Cascade approach
Cascade take a different approach to many multichannel software providers in that their focus is much broader than boosting sales. They believe streamlining business processes and reducing the time required on the part of the retailer to provide high service levels and good customer communications is perhaps more important in terms of the long term success of an online retailer.
In general they aim for Cascade to be a truly comprehensive channel management platform in that retailers can manage their entire business from a single user interface. Whilst many competitive systems do not offer this and leave the customer in a position where they need to rely on third party plugins and in some case, log into sales channels to complete some task such as creating new products or refunding orders, Cascade believe that in order to meaningfully streamline processes all such tasks need to be completed within a single system.
Although all Cascade customers log into a single “Software as a Service” based system, each customer may have different included modules. Some common differences are within the warehouse management area of Cascade with a specific warehouse management module for each vertical market.
Giant Systems began developing Cascade in 2005 and over the past seven years have grown their team slowly, taking on experienced staff members who share their passion for Ecommerce. Working with each client on an individual basis to provide a customised solution based on their requirements has resulted in steady growth with a loyal customer base.
They now have a wide range of clients using Cascade to manage listings and sales across Amazon, eBay, Play, Priceminister, Tesco Direct (Yes, Cascade are one of the first multichannel management platforms to support the Tesco marketplace!), and Cascade Websites. Cascade took the decision to base fees on a fixed price model as their efforts are primarily directed at streamlining businesses rather than primarily focusing on growth in turnover. Fees can vary, but as a guide, clients tend to pay between £500 and £1200 per month depending on installed modules and sales channels utilised.
Although not yet announced we hear that Cascade are also working on an entry level system for online retailers which is likely to be released in the first quarter of 2013.
