Royal Wedding memorabilia blunder on eBay
If there’s ever an event guaranteed to produce an influx of sometimes tasteful, but more often tacky, souvenirs it’s a Royal event such as a Coronation, Jubilee or at this moment in time a Royal Wedding.
eBay is awash with William and Kate souvenirs, but the most amusing is a mug manufactured by Guandong Enterprises which features the happy couple… except it sports a picture of William’s younger brother Harry alongside the bride to be Kate.
They appear to be selling at stupidly high prices on eBay with eBay research company Terapeak revealing that the highest price fetched to date is £70.00 for a mistake Harry and Kate mug. The next highest price was an auction at £67.00, although since then prices have tumbled.
Originally available from Guandong Enterprises at £9.99 plus P&P there was a hefty mark up for the first sellers to list these mugs, although even a mistake doesn’t ensure that your Royal Wedding souvenirs will make a good investment.
Terapeak shows the average selling price for a Queens Silver Jubilee Mug from 1977 is still just £3.85 and for a Coronation mug from 1953 prices average around £6.81. If you’re buying William (or Harry!) and Kate memorabilia don’t expect it to be a nest egg for the future.

Guandong Enterprises $9.99p + P&P….Bloody hell that’s UK supplied [and made] prices.
The link is dead, so who knows what the P&P was?..
Just making loads £££s out of cr*p..

I had my suspicions all along that this was never really a ‘mistake’ – I’m sure their mug has generated a heck of a lot more interest than if it had been a pic of William on there!

This is what happens when you get things made on the cheap in China.
A television program said that Royal wedding memarabellia is not worth anything anyway.

I’ll resist the temptation to make a joke about there being some right mugs out there willing to buy this stuff.
….. OK I’ll get me coat.

I quite often browse the freeview channels & Bid.tv (channel 34, I think?).
It ammazes me, how people buy on there. Some one the stuff is not bad, but then you look at the price PLUS P&P £7.99p, wish we could get away with that…..!!.
By the way, I’ve not bought off there..

Sorry Chris, I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but the misprint in your headline won’t make that any more valuable either…

As a resident of west berkshire, living a mile from Kate middleton its getting silly round here, shops full of flags, even the local Tesco has racks of royal wedding brochures.
